Going back to Taiwan doesn't mean you have to add just one nearby stop to your Taipei itinerary. The base will vary depending on whether you want to enjoy a night in the city, a morning by the lake, a hot spring in your room, or tea in a small town. This article compares the site's seven Taiwan itineraries in terms of accommodation and transportation costs. Most of them are 3 nights and 4 days, Chiayi·Alishan is 2 nights and 3 days, and Penghu is 3 nights and 4 days on the island.
The evaluation below is an editorial opinion comparing the movement routes of the proposed schedules published on this site. It is not a ranking of overall difficulty or popularity of the destination. If this is your first trip to Taiwan, compare Taipei and the south first.
If you want to experience both city life and the countryside, Taipei is a great place to start. On the other hand, if you're more drawn to harbor walks and Tainan's old town, the Kaohsiung base might suit your itinerary. Both articles are consecutive nights, but there is a transfer on the day of visiting a nearby area. Rather than choosing an airport name first, pick the area you want to see most and then compare available flights. If you arrive late at night, it is more realistic to choose to skip the first day's sightseeing and still have the core experience.
Jiaoxi's room conditions are important for a rest trip with parents
Satisfaction with a hot spring is not determined solely by the name of the area. First, check whether it is easy to get in and out of the bathtub in the room and whether the elevator and bed configuration are suitable. Jiaoshi writing is a method of returning to accommodation in the afternoon, so even if sightseeing is reduced, the main focus of the trip remains. Conversely, you should first discuss whether the Alishan sunrise is an experience you want enough to warrant an early start and mountain travel. When you bundle both destinations into a nature trip, it's easy to miss the differences in the actual rhythm of the day.
If you don't want to carry luggage, choose a consecutive stay itinerary.
Taipei·Kaohsiung·Jiaoxi·Hsinchu writes stay in one place. However, staying overnight does not mean that you stay nearby every day. Round trip transfers are included on Beipu day in Hsinchu and Tainan day in Kaohsiung. Taichung · Sun Moon Lake allows you to spend the evening and morning on the lake instead of carrying your luggage once, and Chiayi · Alishan prepares for early morning activities by staying on the mountain. Decide whether you value reducing travel to accommodations or spending the night at your destination.
Penghu is viewed separately when there are ample vacation days
The 3 nights and 4 days written by Penghu are the time spent on the island. If you read it as four dates from departure to return from Korea, you may lose time on transit and travel to the main island. Since the schedule involves crossing the bridge by vehicle with a driver, the burden of shipping between islands has been reduced, but this does not mean that the variables of air operations entering and leaving the island have been eliminated. If you make separate reservations for international and domestic flights, check the handling conditions in case of baggage and transfer failure, and leave room for your stay on the main island.
If this is your second trip, consider the slower pace of Hsinchu·Beipu
If your goal is to see more of the famous observatories or large night markets, the Hsinchu itinerary may be a low priority. Instead, if you like to drink tea in an old alley and relax without any further plans, this is a good candidate. With Beipu, first choose a date when the experience you want is actually available and then select the bus. You will need to make arrangements to separate the Hsinchu high-speed rail station from the downtown station, but you can leave the rest of your downtown day loose. The selection criterion is whether you are comfortable with having an empty afternoon on your trip.
Three conditions to exclude first when comparing 4-day schedules
Firstly, if your flight arrives late and departs early, the actual sightseeing days may only last two days or so, which cuts down on a lot of travel. Second, if the purpose of your trip is a specific museum, tea experience, or mountain train, the operating date and availability of reservations come first. Third, do not just compare the example totals for each article, but recalculate the budget using the same date and number of people. Items with different cost structures should not be omitted, such as main island accommodation in Penghu, mountaintop rooms in Alishan, and hot spring rooms in Jiaoxi.
