THE BASIC ROUTE
Staying in Namba,
We just change direction one day at a time.
If this is your first time visiting Osaka, there’s no reason to change accommodation. Stay for 3 nights in Namba, which is directly connected to Kansai Airport, on the first day go to Dotonbori, on the second day go to Umeda from Osaka Castle, on the third day go to USJ, and on the last day go to Shinsekai. This is a basic itinerary that doesn't miss out on famous places and doesn't repeat the same route.
The Osaka Castle castle tower is open from 09:00–18:00, last admission is at 17:30, and adult admission is ¥1,200.

- 04Set the morning’s rides around the area entry you actually obtain. Without Nintendo-area access, choose other open attractions instead of treating Mario or Donkey Kong as guaranteed.

It's good to share just one plate before entering Dotonbori. It's takeout-oriented and doesn't take reservations, so 17:00 before the dinner peak is convenient.

The staff prepares it on an iron plate, so there are few failures for your first Osaka dinner. If you arrive on Monday, move DAY 2 to the evening and replace the first day with another branch of Namba.

It was sandwiched between Osaka Castle and Umeda. Reservations are not possible and the lines are long, so reserve 60–90 minutes for your 12 o'clock arrival. On Tuesdays, it’s replaced with Umeda meal.

I put it on the south route of Namba before going to the airport. Because it’s a small main store, the wait is short if you arrive at the opening time, and it’s easy to return to Namba after eating and collect your luggage.

USJ is,
No other schedules are mixed.
There are days when admission is earlier than the official opening time, so I planned to arrive at Universal City early. Starting January 5, 2026, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ same-day numbered tickets and standby tickets will require the latest official app. Register your admission ticket QR in advance and check the issuance status as soon as you enter the park.
Studio Pass and Express Pass prices vary depending on visit date and product. Numbered tickets can be obtained for free through the app after entering the park, but supplies may run out and this alone doesn’t guarantee rides on individual attractions.
THE NIGHT VIEW
The day I started at the castle,
It ends in the sky.
It follows only one direction northwest from Osaka Castle to Tenma, Nakanoshima and Umeda. The Floating Garden is open from 09:30–22:30, and the last admission is at 22:00, so it’s a good idea to go up a little earlier than sunset to see both the daytime and nighttime views. After the tour, take the Midosuji Line back to Namba.

Which stay suits your trip?
If you look at the first Osaka route, Sotetsu Fresa Inn is the most convenient, and if you want a night atmosphere, Forza is good. If your accommodations should also be a part of your trip, choose W Osaka, and if high-rise views and quiet service are your priority, choose Conrad. Staying three consecutive nights at all four locations is efficient.

Conrad Osaka

Sotetsu Fresa Inn Osaka Namba Station

- The basic rooms and bathrooms are small, and rooms on the road side can be sensitive to noise, so the higher-level rooms are more comfortable with two wide suitcases.
Hotel Forza Osaka Namba Dotonbori

- Cons
- Because it’s in the center of the downtown area, there’s noise and crowds at night, and if you drag a suitcase from Nankai Namba, the journey is longer than Fresa Inn.
