Rather than just staying in the resort, enjoy the sea and the city together.
Nha Trang is a completely different experience depending on where you stay. If you stay downtown on Tran Phu Beach, it's easy to take morning walks and eat out, while if you choose a resort near Cam Ranh, you can spend more time inside the hotel. This article is a journey of electrons. Staying three nights in a row near the beach, visiting Po Nagar and the mud bath on one day, and exploring Long Son Pagoda and the city slowly on the other day. It is a configuration that allows you to see the daily life of a coastal city without having to take a boat every day or change accommodations. Assuming 2 adults, arriving in the afternoon and departing in the afternoon.
This is a suggested itinerary based on official tourism and facility data. This is not a direct visit review or real-time reservation quote. Travel times are estimates for planning purposes, and the times below are visit goals set separately from facility business hours.
3 NIGHTS · 4 DAYS
The route I follow one day at a time
From Cam Ranh Airport to the city, take a walk on the beach on the first day.
- 01Assume you arrive at Cam Ranh Airport at 13:00. 60–90 minutes are initially allocated for immigration and baggage collection.
- 02Plan on a 45–70 minute drive from the airport to your hotel in Nha Trang town. Check whether your hotel reservation includes airport pickup and any late arrival surcharges.
- 03Before and after 15:00–16:00 After check-in, take a short break at the pool or in your room. Even if it's a beach hotel, check if you have to cross the road.
- 0417:00 Walk around Tran Phu beach promenade and 2/4 Square. Choose your itinerary to enter the sea only when waves and field flags allow.
- 05Dinner is served at Nem Nuong Restaurant or Sailing Club near the hotel. On the first day, rather than walking to the end of the coastal road, I have enough stamina to return.
If your flight arrives after 15:00, prioritize check-in and dinner and move your beach walk to the next morning. If your flight arrives at night, you only need to check in. If you arrive early in the morning and only book a rate for an afternoon check-in on the same day, you won't be able to use your room right away.
See Po Nagar first and finish with a mud bath.
- 0108:00 After breakfast, depart for Po Nagar. Expect a 15–25 minute drive from the city beach and adjust your arrival time according to site opening announcements.
- 02Allocate approximately 60–90 minutes from Po Nagar. Wear comfortable shoes considering the stairs and sunlight, and follow the clothing and photography guidelines for religious spaces.
- 0310:00–10:30 Move to i-resort. Plan to spend about 15–25 minutes in Po Nagar, but keep in mind the waiting time to hail a ride.
- 04Allocate 2-3 hours for the mud bath and mineral water bath, and have lunch inside the facility or on the way back.
- 05Return to the accommodation around 15:00 and rest. We eat dinner in the city and do not go back and forth to the northern tourist attractions.
The i-resort's official information is that at the time of confirmation, it operates from 08:00 to 17:30, and ticket sales stop after 16:30. Mineral water baths and mud baths may be different products. Please check the number of people sharing the bathtub and whether towels, lockers, and meals are included before purchasing.
Long Son Pagoda and downtown dining, leaving the sea for the afternoon
- 0108:00 Move to Long Son Pagoda. Expect about a 10–20 minute drive from downtown, and try to get the flow to finish the staircase before it gets too hot.
- 02If you feel uncomfortable climbing up to the tall Buddha statue, just look around the temple space below. After viewing, rest at a cafe or indoors.
- 03For lunch, choose local bunka or charcoal grill. Rather than traveling to a famous restaurant, follow the directions back to your accommodation.
- 0414:00–16:00 Relax in room and pool. Even on sunny days, set aside time to avoid lingering on the beach in the middle of the day.
- 05Finish with a short beach walk around 17:00 and dinner. At the beaches of Nha Trang town, it's natural to expect sunrise over the sea, and don't plan it like you would at a sunset spot over the sea.
If an island tour is the centerpiece of your trip, swap it out for the entire day. Check actual ports of call, ports of embarkation, permitted activity areas, hotel pickup and weather cancellation conditions. The island name alone does not guarantee snorkeling locations and coral conditions.
On the departure date, secure the long trip to the airport first.
- 0108:00 After breakfast, take a short walk on the beach or pack up. Prioritize check-out preparations over visiting new tourist attractions.
- 02Check the hotel's luggage storage and late check-out conditions. If you are leaving late at night, ask if you can use the shower facilities.
- 03For international flights, aim to arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure. Departure from the city is scheduled approximately 4–4.5 hours prior to your flight, including road travel and vehicle waiting.
- 04For example, for an international flight at 16:00, the goal is to arrive at the airport at 13:00. Plan an 11:30–12:00 departure from downtown, moving forward depending on traffic that day.
Nha Trang town and Cam Ranh Airport are not adjacent. If you include a mud bath or island tour on the last day, you may be pushed back until you have time to wash up and collect your luggage.
PLAN WITH A REASON
Why travel in this order
The city hotel and Cam Ranh resort are not the same base
Cam Ranh and Bai Dai resorts are close to the airport, so the trip may take a long time when touring Nha Trang city. The vehicle times in this article are based on accommodations located in the center of Tran Phu Beach. If you have booked a resort, do not apply as is but recalculate from the hotel to Po Nagar and i-Resort respectively. If you want a day off just inside the hotel, it's clear to compare Cam Ranh first, and if you want different restaurants and walks every day, it's better to compare downtown first.
Mud Bath compares inclusions rather than names
There is no guarantee that the cheap basic admission ticket will include the mud bath. Conditions including mineral water pool, private or shared bathtub, usage hours, meals, and towels may vary for each product. If there are two people, check first whether it is the total price for the bathtub for two people or the price for one person. This itinerary positions mud bathing as a relaxing activity and is not recommended based on its effectiveness in treating specific diseases.
Walking on the beach and swimming in the ocean have different weather requirements
Even if the rain stops briefly, you cannot enter the sea if the waves are high. On days when swimming is difficult, cut your beach walk short and replace it with a break at an indoor cafe or hotel. It is also not appropriate to use the outdoor pool at a mud bath facility as an automatic alternative during heavy rain or thunderstorms. It is best to change the date after confirming that the facility is operating normally.
Why Not Add Da Lat to Your Day
Although it's a neighboring city on the map, Da Lat requires a separate trip up the plateau. If you include Nha Trang as a day trip for 3 nights and 4 days, the round trip transportation will take up a large part of the day. If you're curious about Da Lat, add a separate stay and plan your outbound flight in conjunction with the last accommodation. In this article, I leave plenty of time for different times on the beach and in town.

DAY 1 · Restaurants near the accommodation
Nem nuong — grilled pork with fresh wraps
It is a local dish of roasted pork wrapped in vegetables and rice paper. Rather than ordering multiple menu items for two people at once, check the amount of the basic set and then add more. Sauce ingredients and flavorings vary from restaurant to restaurant, so it is best to notify them of any allergies or preferences first.

Lạc Cảnh, introduced by the Tourism Office, is a restaurant where seasoned beef is grilled on a table fire. This could be a candidate if you want a meal different from seafood. Consider smoke, indoor ventilation, and the tastes of your companions, and check the current address and business hours before moving on.
