On the first day, leave your luggage at Nagoya Station and go up from Atsuta Shrine to Osu/Sakae. On the second day, after seeing Nagoya Castle and Honmaru Palace, board the Hida Limited Express at 12:48 and arrive at Gero at 14:29. The sightseeing is condensed into the city and lasts for 3 days and 2 nights with a final night at a hot spring.
You have to get to Nagoya Castle right when it opens at 09:00 so you can see the Honmaru Palace and not be late for the 12:48 Limited Express Hida.

Settle in, then choose one afternoon outing
Oasis 21 at night. Sakae is an optional stop on Day 1; stay for the lights only if your arrival time and energy allow.
- 01Arrive at Chubu International Airport around 10:00. Allow 60–90 minutes for entry and baggage, then time for the station and train wait. The μSKY journey itself can be as short as about 28 minutes; it is not the whole airport-to-hotel transfer.
- 02Aim to leave your bags near Nagoya Station around 12:00–13:00, depending on arrival formalities. Have lunch near the station before sightseeing.
- 03Around 14:00, head to Atsuta Shrine and allow about 40–60 minutes for the visit. If the flight is delayed, keep the afternoon near your hotel instead.
- 04For a hitsumabushi-focused afternoon, check whether Atsuta Horaiken Jingu is still accepting diners and eat before visiting the shrine. If reception has closed or the wait is too long, keep the station lunch; do not fit both plans together.
- 05Optional around 16:00: choose Osu shopping streets OR Sakae, not both. Skip this outing if lunch or the shrine visit runs late.
- 06Check in and rest before dinner. Aim for a nearby meal around 19:00 rather than another cross-city outing.
After seeing the golden castle, go to the hot springs on the limited express Hida.

The Oasis 21 rooftop ‘Spaceship of Water’ is usually open from 10:00–21:00, and the underground plaza is usually open from 06:00–23:00. Since it’s one subway stop from Osu to Sakae, the route will not be reversed on the first day.
The rooftop may be temporarily closed in case of strong winds or bad weather. At this time, switch to an above-ground walk in Hisaya Odori Park.

Gero Onsen Gassho Village is an open-air museum that collects gassho-style houses moved from places such as Shirakawa-go. 08:30–17:00, last admission 16:30, adult ¥800. December 31–January 2 has shorter hours, 09:00–16:00. For the sample 10:27 train, arrange a taxi and leave around 09:35 with time to collect luggage; skip the village if the current train or opening times leave too little room.

For DAY 1, Daiwa Roynet is better for spacious rooms and separate bathrooms, and Meitetsu Inn is better for airport line access and low prices.
